THE HENDERSON’S 2026 NEWSLETTER

Happy New Year to all our friends and kin,

May your 2026 be blessed in a very special way.

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS:

Are made to be broken??? I would rather make a resolution for each new day. This is the day that the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it!! One day recently, I took one of our dogs to the Vet’s office. As I waited for the Vet, I turned my attention to an article in one of the Dog magazines. The article talked about New Year’s Resolutions and how if we want to deal with our problems, we can learn a lot from our dogs. So, after reading the article, I too plan to observe some of the writer’s suggestions:

  • Enjoy the small things. Our own dogs enjoy a ride in the car and, in fact, get excited over the anticipation of going. When we come home (especially when it is Pat) the dogs get excited and greet us with their own version of smiles and laughter. Doesn’t that kind of perk you up? This is another of the things we can glean from our Dogs….. A really healthy greeting when we see our friends!!!
  • Dogs are great at Reconciliation. What if we also forgave as quickly as our Dogs? How often have we scolded our dog, only to be forgiven soon after? So forgive someone in your life that you think has wronged you, even if you have to take the initiative.
  • Enjoy the silliness of your dogs. Our two Ginger the Husky and Marty the shepherd mix, have their own silliness. Ginger often hides in our closet but the minute she thinks there is food, she comes flying out of hiding.
  • Martie knows when someone is home and she waits at the door. As soon as the person enters, she is jumping all over them, unless it is a stranger and then she will start growling. The other silly thing, she and Ginger both like to play. Ginger will grab up a dog toy and flip it in the air to attract Marty’s attention. Marty does the same thing. She sometimes tosses the toy in the air and then retrieves it and tosses again. Ginger and Marty are both rescue dogs and our silliness comes from watching them play.
  • . You, Like your dogs, enjoy some silliness in 2026, its good for you!!

So, as we end 2025, and begin a new year, may we resolve to be…….

Loved the Dog story! So true that we need to be more forgiving just like our dogs are! 🐾
