THROUGH MY KNOT HOLE

NOTE: UPDATED August 22, 2023

This is Henderson’s first attempt at a blog. I have been posting a website since 1996, but now that I cannot use Sitebuilder, I am forced to use WordPress in order to stay online. It will take me a while to figure out how to use it. In the meantime, please bear with me, as my learning curve is made. https://blakehart.com/  

I am slowly learning how to use WordPress, but it has not been easy. At my age, about the time I figure something out, I forget how I did it the first time. I am certain most of you will understand this.

The reason I have chosen the name “Through My Knothole” is because everyone views Life through their “own Knothole”, so I will be looking at life as I see it, guided by the presence of God.

The link above is my old website, which you can still visit. Most of my website info is about family and friends, God, politics, and other things I have an interest in. I am a conservative and believe in a living God. Some of my posts will be Christ related.

In 1966 this is a picture of our Academic Year Institute participants at Texas A&M, funded by National Science Foundation. Go to this link for our 1st day at Texas A&M. From here you can find the names of the participants, as well as our sponsors, Dr. J.G. Potter and C.M. Loyd and Roger McGee (math teacher) Remember it has been 57 years since this first day at Aggie Land, so many our participants have left this realm.

In 1965 I was a teacher at Hartman Jr. High in Houston and I saw information about a 1 year stipend for Jr. High science teachers at Texas A&M, so I applied and was turned down. I applied again in 1966 and was again turned down, but lo and behold I received notification that one of those chosen had passed away and I was given the opportunity to study for one year at Texas A&M with everything paid for by The National Science Foundation. As it turned out, it was one of the greatest times in my life, not only from an education standpoint, but the gaining of friends for life. Two other single guys and I, Roger Banwart from Minnesota and Richard Magarian from Road Island, became roommates and fellow classmates. Now 57 years later, we are still friends.
